For many years the Rev. Bettie Kennedy and many churches, ministers, companies, and individuals have teamed to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving Food Baskets for needy families in the East Texas area.

The Community Food Drive was started in 1999, by the late Rev. Bettie Kennedy. Rev Kennedy enlisted numerous churches, businesses, and individuals to team together to provide Thanksgiving Food Baskets for families in need in East Texas. In 1999, approximately 50 families were fed. In 2023, we delivered to over 1,300 families. This year, our goal is to again reach 1,300 families.

HOW IT WORKS: Using funds raised by the community, we provide a ham and approximately 20 food items to families in our area. Food boxes are prepared and delivered on the same day (Saturday, November 23rd) by between 350-450 volunteers.
